The Gatsby Words

 I was writing this blog which was very informal when my cousin just looked at it and told me that it was trash. So, then I decided to write this new blog. So, in this blog I'm gonna talk about the book Great Gatsby and it's for two chapters as my English teacher instructed me. Well, I was trying to be very informal, but I ended up using slang language when I wrote my first draft of this blog. By the way, I'm not publishing that. 

Gatsby book is about the roaring 20s that occurred in the 1920s. The book is written from the perspective of a guy named Nick. He just moved to the city from his rural home. In the book he describes the new experiences that he had. So, the book shows a deep passion for wealth and money in the 1920s. Narrator meets her cousin Daisy and her husband Tom. This story revolves around Tom's and Daisy’s relationship so far. The narrator says that Tom was cheating on her wife and describes his own experience of seeing Tom’s affair. The narrator also describes the corruption of wealth in this world when he visits the Valley of Ashes.There, he sees a huge sculpture of glasses which represents a wealthy person looking over his workers in poverty. Overall, the narrator describes the passion for wealth and fun that people had in Roaring 20s and finishes the chapter by describing his encounter with his mysterious neighbor, Mr. Gatsby. 

Well, I did only read the book until Chapter 2 yet. So that's all I know about the book yet. Well, I will continue to update the blog, so keep following the channel.

    I enjoyed how you talked about what you have read so far in the book and the important details that popped out for you. Maybe next time you could mention more of your perspective on the book because it would allow us to see how you feel about the characters and events.

  From Maus I by Art Spiegelman      This is a panel (page 125) from Maus by Art Spiegelman and it reveals a lot. In the direct context, Vladek (Narrator's Father) was stuck in a ghetto. Germans were transporting Jews from there, but Vladek managed to hide and survive. After the whole ghetto was emptied, Vladek and his wife Anja left the ghetto.     When we look the picture carefully, the road that Vladek and Anja are travelling on is representing the Swastika symbol of the Nazis. The road is completely white and clear, but the surroundings are lined (which represent the lined clothes of jews in the concentration camps). What is Art?

What is art? Well, I don’t know. Or maybe I do.  If you look at pure definition, art is commonly regarded as something that was created out of the creator’s creative mind. It could be a movie, a song, a book, a painting, or anything else. If you look deeply among these art forms, one common element is that all these emerge from the imagination of a person. And for me, that imagination is art.  I have been imagining various things since childhood. As a kid, I imagined myself as a superhero saving the world or a famous sportsperson representing the country. I used to think of dinosaurs, aliens, car racing, and all sorts of things. As I grew up ,things have changed, and I don’t necessarily dream of myself in a fantastical world. Rather I try to visualize academic concepts. The Next 10 Years

As I transition into the new chapter of my life and exit high school, I would have to change and learn a lot. To help me go through this smoothly, I plan on reading these 10 books in the next 10 years. Fiction      Lord of The Rings - by Peter Jackson: I have always been lured by fantasies and the worlds they describe. As I read this book about Frodo Baggins's journey to prevent Sauron from getting the hold of the One Ring,  I will enjoy the adventures of Frodo and his friends as they fight against Sauron's will.      Pride and Prejudice - by Jane Austen : As Austen follows the stories of the married couple of Elizabeth & Darcy and Jane & Bingley, she explores the various societal issues of the time.
